Classic French distillates

The French passion for calvados and cognac is almost legendary

It was born in the first decades of the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries and continues to this day, insensitive to fashion and changes in trends. Interestingly, Not only people are delighted with distillates, who love any stronger alcohol and experiment with such solutions themselves, like still yeast, to prepare it. Doctors are equally delighted with calvados and cognac, yet medics have never been known for this, that they urged their patients to drink alcohol.

Even before the impact of calvados and cognac on human health is analyzed, worth underlining, that there is no mention of fakes at home, but about noble alcohol, which thanks to such activities, well-known producers produce double distillation and filtering. There are at least several types of calvados and cognac, and each of them has its own specific taste and aroma, distillates have this in common, however, that they mature in oak barrels, undergo natural processes, their formation is not accelerated in any way, and the waiting time for exceptional alcohol can last up to several years. Both names have been reserved for a reason, and for breaking the ban on their use, you can pay really high financial penalties.

The miraculous influence of cognac on the human body is known not only to the French. It turns out, that our compatriots were also aware of this, that it is a unique alcohol and they used it willingly at that time, when it was necessary to save human health. Cognac (also the less noble one, which was produced on a small scale in Polish homes using distiller's yeast for this purpose) it was administered especially to women, it effectively strengthened the body exposed to fainting and shortness of breath. A small glass of cognac put more than one lady on her feet, saving her from the more drastic methods of treatment used by doctors of that time, and although our great-grandmothers gave it using almost exclusively intuition, turned out, that they had many reasons to take such a step.

Modern medicine has been studying the properties of cognac for many years and confirms the legitimacy of believing in the unprecedented power of this distillate. It turns out, that ammonia slightly increases the heartbeat while lowering blood pressure, can therefore be understood, that he was able to bring relief to an upset virgin. There is also no doubt, that it can dilate blood vessels by increasing its pace, in which blood circulates through the body. Cognac will certainly not save a heavy smoker from a heart attack, however, it can be considered a solution, which has a significant contribution to the prevention of heart and circulatory system diseases.

Calvados enthusiasts can also convince their opponents of this, that they are delighted not only with the extraordinary taste and unique aroma of this distillate. After all, for many years it was served to people with digestive problems, and to this day it is considered, that it is an excellent alcohol that works well then, when the guests do not have an appetite for the next dishes served by the hostess. Already a small amount of calvados makes, that dinner tastes delicious, and the stomach does not feel the sad consequences of greed, Therefore, it is difficult not to be enthusiastic about this solution.

Both cognac, and calvados can improve our health, doctors recall, however, that this fact cannot be taken as an inducement to drunkenness. After all, miraculous properties are revealed only then, when alcohol is drunk in small amounts, and the person enjoying it does not become addicted.

The reputation of both drinks caused, that even alcohol essences have appeared on the market, imitating the flavors of these alcohols: cognac touch-ups and calvados alcohol touch-up.
